Is Job Placement Available? Job placement assistance may be available for some who qualify. We cannot guarantee employment for anyone!!! Only a family can decide if a person's skills, experience, personality and availability will meet that specific family's needs. Families contact us for help in the tri-state area including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. We encourage each student to seek various avenues for securing jobs in this economy and not to rely on one source for referrals. Do not take this training if you are only hoping we will 'give' you a job.
What is Required to Register? You must be at least 18 years of age or older, be fluent in English and have photo ID.
Is the Class for LPN’s or RN’s? No. The classes are NOT medical classes and are not designed for LPN’s or RN’s. This class will not certify you to work in a hospital setting. This is not an LPN or RN program which requires years of training. ICT's classes are early child care classes designed by licensed early child care educators with the assistance of medial professionals.
Will I Learn Everything in One Day? No, you probably won't learn everything but you will certainly learn the essentials and most common needed tools for newborn caregivers. Over the years, we've found the 1-day intensive class to be the most effetive, especially for those who cannot take out a lot of time in their schedule. A great number of topics will be covered and the most important points will be highlighted. The classes also provide materials that can be used after the class for review purposes. It is a jam-packed and eventful day full of lecture, hands-on demonstrations, videos and presentations which will surely leave you more knowledgable and confident in your newborn child care abilities than you were when you walked through the door.
I Already Have My Own Children, Will this Class Benefit Me? Definitely! It is great that you have your personal experience and will make the class very interesting for you. Many of our students have their own children but they continue to learn things they didn't know. It is never too late to continue learning, especially as child care studies show that things have certainly changed over the years.
Can I Pay on the Day of the Class? No. Class space is limited and on first come first served basis. In addition, materials including certificates are ordered in advance so each student must be registered prior to the day of the class. We recommend early registration which can easily be done online.
Who are the Instructors? The class is a non-medical class and is designed for the layperson caregiver. The instructors are experienced, child care educators and are American Heart Association Certified Instructors and have various skills & experience within the child care industry, holding degrees and various child care association memberships.
