This class was a wonderful group, with some currently working as baby 'nurses' and others with no experience with babies at all. It was a diverse, mixed age and really fun group of determined women.

Evelyn started off working as a nanny and elder care worker for several years before deciding to become a Newborn Care Specialist. Her love for babies and nurturing infants motivated her to go for it and pursue newborn care jobs although she only had experience with her own children. Evelyn took the Infant & Child Training Center's Newborn Care Specialist (Baby Nurse) Certificate Class and began seeking families to help care for their baby. She was hired by a lovely family in Brooklyn, NY who extended her stay for several months to care for their new baby girl at night. Evelyn bought her first set of scrubs and although she says she was a bit nervous at first, she strived to put her best foot forward and work hard to provide superior care for the baby. The information she learned in the class along with her natural love of babies, helped her receive a wonderful reference and referrals.
